Grandma’s Badgley Mischka Blouse

All vintage pieces have a story to share.

After my grandma Muriel passed away at 95, my aunt gave me a few of her beautiful pieces. As with many women from her generation, my grandma was always impeccably dressed.

One of the pieces my aunt gave to me was my grandma’s Badgley Mischka burnt orange button-up. I wore it for the first time the other day to work, and it was fun guessing with my coworkers what time period we thought it was from. Someone guessed the ’70s, while I guessed the ’80s because of its full shoulders. This is why I love vintage pieces – they’re mysteries that have stories to share.

I imagine my grandma wore her button-up with a beige suit jacket and pair of dress pants to synagogue. My version’s a liiiiittle different. I wore it with a pair of high-waisted black jeans and booties.

Earrings by Shashi. Similar style available in Yellow Gold here.
The look put together.

With a lot of heart,
