NYC + Package Free

During the last weekend of July, I traveled with my boyfriend to NYC. What a trip it was! We traveled there to celebrate our 1-year anniversary and see Phish, one of our favorite bands, perform at Madison Square Garden. While seeing Phish was definitely a highlight, my other highlight was visiting the pop-up shop Package Free.

I’d been stalking the shops Instagram for weeks, so I was so stoked to finally walk through it! What makes Package Free an incredible shop is that it helps people transition to a low waste lifestyle. For example, I had recently run out of the Swiffer pads and been wanting an alternative that’s more environmentally friendly. As soon as I walked through the Package Free shop, guess what I saw – reusable Swiffer pads by the company Juniperseed Mercantile! I can’t wait to use them!

During my visit, I had the opportunity to meet one of the shop’s co-founders, Daniel Silverstein. He was so nice and knowledgeable! And, not only is he the shop’s co-founder, he’s also the Founder and Creative Director of Zero Waste Daniel, a waste-free clothing company that’s sold in the shop! The other co-founder, Lauren Singer, is notable for her blog Trash is for Tossers and being the Founder and CEO of The Simply Co., an organic and vegan laundry detergent company that’s also sold at the shop!

After getting home from NYC, Package Free made an exciting announcement: The once pop-up shop was transitioning into a full fledged store! So, anyone visiting or living in NYC must check it out!
