Happy Earth Day, thoughtful fashionistas! A year ago today, I launched this fashion blog to share with you designers that are creating and stores that are selling clothes that are Mother Earth approved. I hope I’ve helped you see that you CAN dress fashionably and responsibly!
To me, Earth Day was the perfect day to launch this blog because, to get serious on you, the fashion industry is a leading cause of air and water pollution- second to the oil industry! Since we all love Mama Earth, purchasing clothes that were made causing minimal pollution or are zero waste should be the norm. To be honest, I’m no saint. I still buy clothes that aren’t eco friendly. But, I make sure to buy pieces I’ll want to wear for years.
Since vintage fashion is extremely eco friendly, check out this post to learn why, the wonderful employees of resale shop Luxury Garage Sale allowed me to have some fun in the store’s massive warehouse to create a birthday look!
For this birthday look, I’m wearing a retro Versace blazer in one of my fav colors, chartreuse. The vintage Lanvin midi skirt has a touch of chartreuse that goes seamlessly with the blazer. The 100% organic cotton halter top by Eileen Fisher is from my own closet. It’s out of stock, but here’s a similar and just as adorable style by Sundry that’s even made in the USA! To accessorize the look, I added a vintage square-shaped bangle by Sobral and nude heels by Manolo Blahnik that are from my closet.
In honor of Earth Day, do something eco conscious today- use a reusable bag while running errands; use a reusable water bottle instead of a plastic one; or take a walk instead of driving!
With a lot of heart,
